Hi all I'm new here so please bear with me.
I'm 26 & was diagnosed with endometriosis last March & underwent a laparoscopy in November 2014. I then went on to have the copper coil fitted (all hormone-based contraception makes me suffer hemaplegic migraines) in February 2015. I know that it was going to take a few months for my body to get used to the coil but the pain and bleeding that I had before my surgery in Nov '14 has now returned with a vengeance. MY GP has requested that I be seen by the specialist again at the hospital but the waiting list is extremely long. Is this normal for it to "return" as quickly?
Can anyone recommend any alternative remedies for the meantime? Or any advice whatsoever? It really is affecting my self-esteem, especially when it comes to my sex life. My partner is extremely understanding, but I'm actually starting to be put off by it now as I'm bleeding & experiencing pain during sex since the pain returned (first time this has happened & no STD's). Does anyone know of any specialists at all in Scotland, either through the NHS or private? I truly am that desperate.
(p.s. GP prescribed me norethisterone 3x a day but that seems to have also caused me to experience my migraines daily for the last 4/5 weeks. I'm also currently signed off work between the two issues as it is disrupting day to day activities. Sorry if I sound as if I am ranting but nobody I know has any experience with this & everything I come across online are from USA)
