Hi All

I start a 3 month course of Zoladex tomorrow and quite frankly I am pooing it!

Can anyone tell me anything good? I have only read horror stories and I am stressing out, I mean we already have enough inconvenient symptoms with endo without adding to them!!

Thanks ladies

xx

Hey I started it only a month ago now I'm not saying it won't get worse for me however I felt the same as you right now. I've had only a couple of side effects which are very manageable and felt fine apart from the odd day. It changes for everyone so your never going to get a straight answer. I hope this helps even slightly X

Hi I've had 2 lots of zoladex and it helped my pain loads the side effects of zoladex were quite bad had bad night sweats and headaches but they were manageable, too me it was worth it as I was painful free for the 6 months I was on it.hope everything goes ok for u 😊

Hi I was on Zoladex for 6 months. The first month was hell but settled after the 2nd injection. Pain was so much better. I too was really nervous as had read the horror stories as well, but I'm glad I tried it, as I felt so much better than I had fo a long time. Good luck Hun.

Hi

I had Zoladex for 6 or 8 months after my 1st laproscopy. I used to go to my GP on my own and go home using public transport. I was lucky the bus took only 15-20 mins each way.

I used to get home, get into comfy pj's, a warm hot water bottle, fluffy socks and watch TV or movies which are suitable for the mood. I ended up watching comedies, romantic comedies etc.. As this made me feel nice and relaxed. I used a dim light to watch TV as this suited me. Have a nice cuppa or green team to also calm you and relax you too.

Also surround yourself with positive people who are willing to give you company and not stress you.

I hope this helps :)

Feel better soon.

I feel the same as you. I get my 1st injection of zoladex next week and I'm dreading it after all the horror stories I've read. Good luck xx

Mine is tonight, I will let you know how it goes. Think I am more concerned about the put-back drugs - synthetic oestrogen - yummy!

Good luck to you too, I am sure we will both be fine.

hi, I've been on zoladex for 5 weeks now (just got my second injection last week). I have mild endometriosis but 2 IVF cycles have failed, and the Zoladex is a preparation for my next cycle. These last 5 weeks have been amazing. No pain whatsoever, my digestion problems seem to be better too and I have much more energy. the hot flushes are starting now, but it's not too bad, I just wear summer t shirts already now :). Good luck, I hope your experience will be similar! And my joints hurt sometimes, but it's really only occasionally.

Thanks miri-p thats really positive, I already have sore joints so fully expect it but I have stocked up on bio-calcium supplements to try and avoid it.

It sounds like I am something of an anomaly but my experience of Zoladex after 2 injections has been really positive. I did get headaches for the first month, but even then they were more an irritation than headaches which stopped me doing anything. So far no hot flushes and if anything my mood is more upbeat than ever. I have suffered from anxiety for years but feel great at the moment and have lots more energy than usual. The pain has greatly subsided and I'd say my digestion has improved as well.

I only hope your experience will be as positive as mine has been so far! Let us know how you get on,

Hi Lucy, thanks for your reply, glad to see so much positivity on this feed, I have digestion issues too so that's good to hear, I also have anxiety so I am really intrigued (I have had no trauma in my life so no real reason - aside from years without a diagnosis of course!). I have read some research that anxiety can be a direct result of hormone issues (I think elevated oestrogen was one of them) so could be some real truth in it!!

Glad Zoladex is helping you xx

I also have had a positive experience with zolodex.  This month will be final injection of a 6 month course. I haven't had any pain or cramps like I had been suffering from for aongoing time, so it's been a relief. And my anxiety has decreased too which is fantastic. I am even used to the injections now and really don't mind them, although I remember the first one was horrible.  I haven't really noticed hot flushes, although I do feel my body temperature has been higher than normal on a constant level, which is fine. The worst part is probably my skin, which has broken out but on the grand scheme of things that's not so bad either! I have adenomyosis and as I am only 31, I am obviously reluctant to have a hysterectomy, as I would still like to have children one day. So the doctor is going to do another ultrasound to see if the zolodex has helped.  But I have read there is no cure or helping it, just a temporary relief so I am confused to why she says she wants to check how it is. Anyway good luck with zolodex. ...it's really not as bad as you think!!

I'm in the same boat, I'm 32 with adeno too but want to try for a family soon. Little worried about my acne getting worse but otherwise looking forward to having no pain!

Thanks for your reply xx

Turned up for my appointment last night, despite having a referral letter and two calls to the GP's surgery prior to my appointment they still didn't order the zoladex in....... I now have as much as two weeks to wait until another appointment comes in, I am fuming, woke up in severe pain today - massive kick in the teeth. :(
