So much pain, no idea what to do...

Hey, so I have a bit of a problem:

I was diagnosed in March via laparoscopy to find the cause of renal pain I was having. The doctors believed the finding of endometriosis was completely coincidental and unrelated. I have 3 small spots, and most days I can get on with things without any issue, even working 12 hour shifts, with some small cramps, but I just continue. My problem is that yesterday I left off a 6 hour shift with extreme lower back pain (I was crying as I was walking out of work). I had a bath and slept fairly well overnight and that seems to have settled it, but today the pain came back with a vengeance, but in my pelvis this time. Expulsion of urine doesn't help, neither does heat or any pain relief. I dipped my urine to see if I had a uti, and it only came back with 2 pluses of leukocytes. I don't know if what I'm experiencing is endometriosis pain, or what my parents (both hospital consultants) are saying is musculoskeletal.

Opinions?

Thank you!x

Hi

I actually had 2 kidney stones removed 8 months ago for pain in loin, groin abdo etc. as it was pretty constant the urologist didn't think the stone removal would help much as wasn't typical renal colic. It did take the sharp pain away but all the dull aching and cramping seemed worse.

Have since been diagnosed with adenomyosis and possible endo and awaiting hysterectomy.

I started getting investigated for the pain in 2012. It can take time and worsening of symptoms and ruling things out and a good dr before eventually getting sorted out.

You probably need to go back to your gp in the first instance. Good luck.

Hi, when you had the lap, did they excise the endo, or leave it, endo can grow quick so it unfortunately could gave hot worse, I would go back to gp and try to get referral to an endo specialist, if they did remove the endo but wasn't specialist it's very possible that they have missed seeing some too,

I hope you get some answers.

Xxx

They left it as it 'wasn't worth removing'. I have the Mirena coil, which is supposed to stunt growth, but it's just got worse. I'll book a Drs appt and see what they say. Xxx

I've heard ladies say that the foil can cause a similar discomfort/pain to endo, so it could be that causing your pain, it can take a while for your body to adapt to the coil, but defo see your doc and ask to see a specialist endo gyne doc,

I have endo on my. Ureter which means I have endo pain ( much like you describe in your back and pelvis) & I have renal colic. Get referred to a BSGE approved or pending approval endo centre. They will be best placed to help you.

Good luck.
