Coil lost!!!

I had a lap three weeks ago and was told that they couldn't see my coil. The scan before my lap showed the coil in its right place. Now a scan can't find it!

So I'm left not knowing where the hell my coil is? Has this happened to anyone?

I'm in America and today received an answer message to say that nothing showed up on my scan. Now I'm freaked out. Also today I got a majorly horrific period. (Iv not been getting periods for 2 years after the coil was fitted)

All I can see on line is people saying that they got a scan to find it and then surgery to remove it. But if they cants find it on a scan then what will happen
