If you know which clinic you can be referred to, have a look on the hfea website and it should show you the NHS and private waiting times.

I know what you mean about reducing the timescale, but if you are entitled to free NHS cycles, I would grab them whilst you can and save your money should you want to try again in the future?

Our NHS appointment came through a lot quicker than the estimates were anyway :-)

Thanks. How many months it took for you to get first ivf ppointment.

I have signed all forms 4 weeks before and it still didn't reach clinic yet.

My clinic said 4 weeks waiting time for nhs patients.

Our funding application was sent off at the end of September, the CCG replied within 2 weeks to advise we had been approved and we had our first consultation at the beginning of November....all in all around 6 weeks.

We then started the down reg injections on Xmas Day and got a BFP on the 9th February.

Sadly we had a missed miscarriage in the 10th week, but I've got endo too and didn't think we would get a positive result with our first round.

Even if you are a NHS patient, the service you receive should not be any different and don't be scared to tell the clinic that if you face any unsatisfactory experiences.

Do you know if the funding has been approved? If not, contact the sending Dr and get them to chase?

Thanks. My funding is approved and it's only the waiting time to get appointment. All tests and all forms done, papers need to reach from gyne doctor to IVF clinic.i am sure I will be having good treatment with nhs , worried only because of endo.

I will check the doctor on Monday.

It only took us 6 months from referral to starting treatment in London. We had all three cycles but unfortunately we then had to go private. At the time I was very happy with the level of treatment I was receiving but since going private I have found out why those three goes where never going to work due to the extra tests you don't get on the NHS... Having said that my friend got a positive result this week at the same NHS hospital we were under.

If say give the NHS a go and if you're not completely happy with the treatment then go private, you won't be able to do it the other way round.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I am doing follow up with the clinic as well.

I am bit worried with endo coming back, that's the only reason to look private so there will be some chance to reduce waiting time.
