Hi steff mine is pretty much the same - had my op in October and it was back by jan, so next lap planned for May. I do now have a different consultant who says that he can do more, so it should be more effective second time around. From speaking to others - it seems common to have a second lap quite quickly after, as the first is more of an exploratory. Hope this helps - I know how disheartening it is when they tell you it's come back just as bad! I've also felt quite depressed since my lap, but not sure if it's related!

Hi I am just waiting for the endo nurse to call me back to see if I can arrange to see her as the surgeon did say she had managed to remove it all and it will take at least a year to come back so really disheartend like you to think it is back already good luck with your next surgery xxxxx

I think we both need to check our doctors are on the approved list, as it sounds like you can have lap after lap if you don't have a specialist! I'll definitely be looking into it before my next one, as I didn't know you could ask your GP to be referered to a specialist Endo centre! Such a shame they let general gynae perform the first lap, with no real knowledge of the illness. Hope you get somewhere soon!x

If your surgeon burnt off the endo rather than cut it out using excision then it can resurface quickly. Check your surgron is on the BSGE website as part of an endo specialist centre - even then it is really important to ask them as many unfortunately still use ablation or diathermy rather than excision. I can highly recommend a few other forums which are fantastic resources for learning about endo if you are interested.

Hi thank you I would love to know about other forums I'm not quite sure if she burnt it or cut it out I have requested a call back from the endo nurse today to speak to her about it and can't rember her name all she told me was that she had managed to remove it all and that it will be at least a year before it can come back so really disheartened about it being back 😫 xxxxxx

Hiya if she is expecting it to return after a year then it certainly sounds as if it was only burnt rather than cut out. Unfortunately it only gets rid out the surface endo but it is often just the tip of the iceburg or like grabbing a weed without removing it fully by the roots. I'd really recommend looking into specialists nearby to be referred to ( BSGE website has a list and you are able to be referred wherever in the UK you wish - although i understand it is difficult in Wales to he referred accross into England) . The other forums I'd highly recommend are EndoMetropolis and Nancy's Nook both on Facebook and websites EndoPaedia and Endometriosis.org I find these sources of info much more in depth and reliable than any other sources to be honest . Good luck :-) xx
