Can I take Ibuprofen with Duloxetine and Gabapentin? (I know this is probably a stupid question)

I know it sounds stupid but was perscribed Duxolextine and Gabapentin, the doctor said that if I have any pain I can take paracetamol but didn't mention Ibuprofen. My pain is usually settled without taking paracetamol but I'm now having flare ups and adding paracetamol on top isn't helping at the moment. Can I take Ibuprofen as well on top of these tablets? I took one Tramadol earlier which has settled the pain but I'd rather not have to take such strong painkillers.

Yes that will be fine the only analgesic interaction noted in the BNF is between morphine and gabapentin. Basically morphine increases the 'action' of gabapentin. So ibuprofen and paracetamol are fine. X

Go back to gp & explain paracetamol do not work. Ibuprofen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory & can cause stomach irritation and long term use can cause bleeding. Tramadol (an opiate) combined with Duloxetine (anti-depressant) may not be a good combination. However, one tablet seems to have been effective for you which is good news but best ask gp to make sure you are doing the right thing for your type of pain.

Thanks for the advise, I'm hoping to get a GP appointment next week as I'm so tired of flare ups! x
