Hi pixie,

My gynecologist told me that pregnancy is one of the best "treatments" for endometriosis... Me and my husband are trying for a baby but I was diagnosed endo and I am waiting for laparoscopy...

The specialist told me that if I get pregnant they are not going to do the surgery for laparoscopy..

I'm pregnant but only early days! I feel no worse than usual. I think I have round ligament twinges but that's it. I think it is dependent on where your endo is located. I had most removed but still have issues with bladder and adeno also. I suspect as I get bigger they might be aggravated. I'm quite looking forward to 9 months of no ovulation or periods :)

My partner and I are currently trying to conceive but so far 4 months in and nothing! I have had two laparoscopic surgeries for endo and my last one I had Ablation. I was told that pregnancy is the best course of treatment for Endo as it gives your ovaries and uterus a 9 month sabbatical!

Hi I am 12 weeks pregnant after my 2 lap in July and I have had some light period like pain over the last 8 weeks but it's nothing like wat u would have through a period. And now it's stretching that I can feel and its so nice not to have ovulation pain or heavy bleeding every month x

I really hate to be the party pooper here, but being pregnant does NOT stop or cure the endo. It CAN help for some women, but for most the pain comes back either right away or maybe a year later. There are some women who actually hurt during being pregnant. (super sad, I know). I guess where you will be most concerned about will be any adhesions stretching. From what I hear, that is where most of the pain comes from and there isn't anything that can be done about it. On the plus side, the baby will be helping remove those hateful adhesions. :D

When will you know if they can do the surgery? I keep my fingers crossed for whichever direction that you want to go. :)

Ive been told to do a pregnancy test after two weeks.. so will do test next week and they want me to still turn up for surgery to discuss situation and perform their own test. Im excited if i am pregnant but same time i know it will come back after... But a small part of me wants the surgery and no baby till aftet surgery.. my fiance is worried how pregnancy will affect me if i dont have surgery now... Feeling lots of mixed emotions...

Agree 100 percent , it does not cure endo in any way , and the pain does not always go, mine didn't and was there after too but not any worse x

I dont understand why we are told pregnancy cures it then! Im fed up with endo

I had years of awful, debilitating pain. But I conceived and carried three babies from 2003 to 2007 and it all went away. I was pregnant or breastfeeding for most of this time (and on into 2008 breastfeeding my youngest!) and it was like a miracle.

It's all back now though ?!! But what an amazing reprieve?! Good luck, I hope this is the case for you. X

I'm afraid where I'm concerned Ardvarklips is right. Im 23 weeks pregnant and was ok until about 19 weeks. I am now in pain every day due to adhesions stretching and breaking and I am having a lot of bladder pain. My endo is stage 4 and during my last op I was a big mess inside so I'm not surprised. I have nodules on my bladder and with the extra pressure of a baby sitting on it, it's quite unpleasant! Having said all that I know how super lucky I am to be pregnant after years of trying and the fact is this is a transient period in my life and we so desperately want the little boy who is kicking and punching me as we speak that you just cope. Good luck to everyone. X

Hi, just wondered if you were offered the progesterone only pill after you had the baby to trick your body into thinking you are still pregnant.

in reply toDSan

I can tell you that doesn't work. I have been on the Depo shot (progesterone only) for almost a year now. I have the pregnancy symptoms, but I still HURT badly all the time.

Congratulations if you are pregnant! Nice to hear all the pregnancy stories from the ladies here. Friends with endo have had babies and it's come back. It's an odd thing that doctors seem to believe, like its a miracle cure. X

Hi Pixie,

Yeah, I hate to be also the bearer of bad news - my endo is actually worse after I had my precious bub. She's now 11 months and my endo is so bad the pain is worse than contractions. ( I had no epi's, during child birth, natural delivery) And my endo pain now is so bad I feel as though my internal organs "Hate Me"!

Good News is though when u are pregnant you have no pain, which is why hubby and I are talking about having a try for No. 2.

Best of Luck to everyone who is pregnant or trying to conceive.

Thank you all... Im doing a test next week and will see what happens. Ive been on the bill for over a year for 3months at a time and then a 7day break.. dont feel it helpped... Stopped the pill as im meant to have coil fitted in lapo.. so now all depends on if im pregnant or not.x

Yes unfortunately I still had pain during pregnancy ? and hence why it took so long to get a diagnosis - as they said if u had this pain when pregnant it can't possibly be endometriosis. Well they were so wrong!! And mine got substantially worse since having my son. But I'm generally always an exception to the rule! Lol so fingers crossed you will be pain free!! Xxx

I was pregnant with endo and I had a terrible pregnancy but not due to the endo! I didn't know I had endo at the time , my only symptom was pain during intercourse which was there through my whole pregnancy , all the consultants told me the pain usually goes when pregnant, aparently not, but it wasn't any worse either, NO IDEA WHY they say it's a cure as most cases ive seen the paint so no different xx

Hi pixie, I found out I was pregnant four weeks before my last lap. My gp sent me for scan to confirm the pregnancy and told my consultant. Unfortunately the scan showed I had a missed miscarriage, they told me I would miscarry within a few weeks, this happened on the 11th week of pregnancy and wad horrendous. My cconsultant was great, I had lap and he removed the retained pregnancy. I too hate this condition it is soul destroying!!Best of luck x
