I've been told that I can't carry on taking the combined pill to treat my endometriosis. My options are to have the Mirena or Prostrap. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

What next?
I can't take estrogen based birth control. I am almost finished with a year of the Depo shot, but I won't be doing the depo shot again. It never touched the pain for me and I have too many side effects that are not worth staying on for. I don't have heavy enough bleeding to really justify the Mirena, plus if the Depo isn't working for the pain, the Mirena most likely won't either. I sure hope you are in the group where they say it's the best thing that has ever happened to them. *fingers crossed*.
yea my pill eventually stopped working the control my pain.
you need to seek out a dr who is well trained in endo excision.
the best guys in the uk perform whats called a total peritoneal excision and from my research and the feedback ive had from various other uk ladies the best guys are all based up in the north of the country so you may need to travel to get the best care possible.
endo may have no cure but excision comes pretty darn close to a cure and with proper treatment most ladies become pain free and fertility improves
Thanks ladies, that's really helpful. I'm not sure which option to take at this stage as seem to be back to square one with the pain. I think it may be a trial and error unless I can find a surgeon for a total peritoneal excision. They only lasered some of mine so I guess the oestrogen is feeding it. Thanks for replying
I'm the same as you my combined pill is going to be stopped and a coil fitted. Not quite sure what to expect but will give anything a go to get out of this pain xx
