When does zoladex start working?

Hello I had 2nd lap at end of Dec (should have been total hysterectomy) and am 3 weeks into 1st zoladex injection. How soon does it start working? I have just started the mother of all periods with extreme pain and as heavy as before, which I hadn't expected.

Hi, I was on zoladex for 12 months, came off it to try ivf. From memory I felt the benefits after my second zoladex injection. I still had a bit of bleeding for the first few months but not a true period. Hopefully things will settle for you next month. I hope this helps x

Thank you although will the side effects of zoladex be worse than painful heavy periods! Time will tell! Hopefully I won't be struggling with either for too long before my hysterectomy. X

For me the side effects of zoladex were minimal compared to the periods. However, after about 8 months or so of being on zoladex the pain started coming back again. So for me it gave me a small window of opportunity where I fekt able to function pain free. I think a hysterectomy is next on the cards for me after Ivf. Best wishes x
