I’ve started a course of zoladex again for my endometriosis. The last time I had zoladex was years ago and I distinctly remember experiencing hot flushes at night and throughout the day.
However, this time round I had my first implant (3.6mg) injected 3 weeks ago today and am still yet to experience any side effects. In fact, I’m actually spotting as if AF is going to arrive which is really annoying
Can anyone advise if they still had a bleed whilst on zoladex and when did side effects start? (Side effects just give me the reassurance the medication is working, hence why I’m feeling discouraged at the lack of).
Thanks in advance

Hi, when I had the injections it took at least a month to settle in and stop my periods. I had one period whilst having it and that was near to when I had the first dose. Then after no periods but hot flushes galore. I’d say if you’ve had some bleeding after two due cycles then to go back to GP. Hope that helps !
Thanks PETeacjer. I’ve had one mild hot flush but still bleeding on CD10. It is my first period following my 2nd Pfizer covid vaccine so I wonder if that could account for this abnormally long period 🤷🏾♀️ I have my 2nd zoladex today so hoping I won’t have any further periods!
Possibly, I didn’t have that jab, I had the AstraZeneca so I can’t comment. Some people say that it as altered their cycle. If you have your second injection today use the opportunity to ask the nurse administering it, they’ll hopefully no more!
I’ve just stopped Zoladex injections and agree with PETeacher took at least a month to settle within my body at least the nurse also told me who administered it. I had a few hot flushes every now and again the side effects were not as bad as I anticipated and subsided.
Thank you BeeHoneyB. The last time I was on them was about 4 years ago and I remember the hot flushes but haven’t had anything yet really, just feeling a bit warm at night 🤷🏾♀️ I’ve my 2nd zoladex today so hopefully this period is my last for a few months.
Hi, I finished a long course of zoladex injections a month ago.
I have nothing but positive things to say about it. It made me feel so much better and yes I had some bleeding but not much and only lasted on and off for 2 months . The pain completely went and I also didn't have any side affects. No hot flushes at all. I felt very lucky, but then I've noticed quite a few people get on very well with it.
Since then I've had a hysterectomy 6 days ago as I wasn't allowed anymore zoladex injections as I'd had a years worth.
Thanks Gem - I remember feeling the same when I was on zoladex last time! I felt like I finally had my life back as the monthly periods were excruciating.
How are you doing following your hysterectomy? Hope recovery is going well?
