Hi Ladies, have any of you had real bad pain the morning after an ultra sound? I had one yesterday, normal, kidneys and internal and today I'm in agony and all I can put it down too is the scan.

Thanks in advance. Xx

Hello! Sorry you are in pain. Yes! I have had the exact same from an internal scan. Painful at the time and very painful for two days after. My GP said it's "normal"...whatever normal now means!

I took codein for two days and used a hot water bottle. Sorry you are feeling unwell! Hope this helps and you are feeling better soon x

Hi Thankyou for replying I take pain relief for my other condition fibromyalgia which has helped a little. I don't take codeine as I have an addiction too it thanks to endo.

I hope you are ok as poss today. Xx

I had ultrasound internal a couple of weeks ago and I had pain during, the morning after and for a few days after. It seemed to aggravate the endo somehow :( lots of snuggling up with hot water bottle x

Hi Adele, thanks for replying I've always had pain around my left ovary after scans but this is all over and making me feel sick, she did push it all about though to see if it moved. This is the first time I've had a scan to look for endo, when I first got diagnosed you had one op to diagnose and another to laser it off.

Hi - yes I always get pain post tv ultrasound and I can feel quite nauseated from it too for about 2 days post scan. not pleasant hey! hope u feel better soon but I do recommend a hot (ish) water bottle xx

I was going to write a question about this, but glad I searched first. I had an internal ultrasound done this week and ever since my endo pain has been quite bad. I assume maybe nudged against it and it's become irritated? There is a whole lot inbetween my ovary, uterus and bowel - which causes pain during sex (and ultrasounds!).

Hi Jo, the real intense pain lasted about three days after that it became a dull pain, however I suffer with a chronic pain condition so I'm on pretty hefty pain relief too. My left ovary attaches to my uterus wall every time and it appears the same again as they couldn't find my ovary during the scan for ages and when she did and pushed about on top with her hand it hurt. i hope your day is a better one. Lou x
