Hope you are well! I was diagnosed when I was 13 and have had problems with endo now for a long time. I'm now 20. Here's my email address of you ever want to talk just message me I'll talk through anything hrtbcky@hotmail.co.uk
I had the symptoms of endo since I was about 15. I thought it was prob endo because my mum and auntie both have it. I didn't get diagnosed until I was 21. It is very hard because a lot of people didn't understand what it is. Hopefully though because they know what it is, that might help to plan your treatment so it doesn't get too painful etc for you.
Sounds also like you have a very good doctor who's on the ball because people often get fobbed off in their teens with " it's growing pains" " your periods will settle".
One tip, although forums like this are helpful don't get scared and worried reading them. People often post when they are having problems and can paint a bleak picture. You don't hear as much about those people who manage to control their endo. So use them for support but remember all is not lost.
I tried all sorts of treatments and found that the simple thing running my pill together so I didnt have a period managed my pain better and I could put up with occasional breakthrough bleeding which was nothing in comparison to a full on period.
Hello I was diagnosed at 21 but I have had bad pain since I was 17, I was very stubborn about seeing a doctor or going to the emergency. I couldnt take it anymore so I went in and found out it was a ovarian cyst. I seen a gynecologist to treat the cyst which it burst and it was very painful went to the hospital and even after that I still had pain my gynecologist told me he believes it's endometriosis that was two years ago.. just had my first laparoscopic surgery May of this year. I have stage three endometriosis. I have been struggling with pain everyday for two years and I was told a year ago it was endometriosis but I didn't believe it until this year..but it all makes sense in the end why I was cause so much pain in my late teens til now. I really do hope you don't go on any narcotics to help with your pain if you are like me and suffer everyday because they are very addicting your body relys on them after awhile its very dangerous and doctors these days dont care they just want to make money I know this from a family member and it's honestly better to look at the nutrients and diets you can do to help with endo also yoga and anti inflammatorys really do help you. I also have been noticing coffee is causing me to have flare ups as well as eating any meats or wheat I just get the worst pains and become very swollen. As I am very short and slim for my age so I end up looking pregnant lol. I really hope you get the best treatment I know it's a very scary disease and it attack your heart, brain and attach organs together. It's a very serious disease and I hope you remember there are many women out there fighting this disease aswell. You can do it no matter how young you are I am still very young I can't believe I have had this for years and didn't know it. It's scary. But I know I can make it through the pain. Make sure you don't let it bring you down I went through a depressed state not top long ago because this year has been the toughest on me losing a family member, surgery, and a lot more issues. I know I am strong enough and I will make it through no matter what happens. I know I kinda ranted a bit to you but I hope whatever choices you make is the right one for you. I don't suggest you get a hysterectomy it won't cure endometriosis. Best of luck. Endo sister ❤💋
