Hi ladies. I've got my investigation lap on 30 October. I already know I have grade 4 endo. I have a 4cm cyst whitch is causing me problems. It was drained in January but it's kept on growing. Any advise would help. How long shall I be off work. X

My surgeon recommended 10-14 days off work and I would agree with him. I had a 4cm cyst removed too. I was fine pain wise after a couple of days, but I had to walk very slowly for nearly two weeks and got tired pretty quick. It depends on how intensive your job is and how flexible it can be. (I went in for a few hours a couple of times to get a few things done).

General advice for the lap.. do any washing you need to do all done, do a big grocery shop, put some frozen meals in the fridge, have some nice comfy pants (no tight abdominal elastic), a wheat bag is handy if you have one and save up some books or tv (or whatever) to keep you entertained. A small cushion to put between the seatbelt and your tummy on the way home was handy for me too.

Honestly I had a bunch of stuff done, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, the key is to be kind to yourself and take it easy as long as is practical for you to aid in healing.

Best wishes.
