I'm new to this and was diagnosed in June.

My husband and I are trying for a baby and was wondering if anyone is trying too or have had kids with this. If you have did you have difficulties conceiving?

Hi there!

I thought I'd share my experience in case it helps! Typically I've had to go for surgery about every 6 months to keep endo at bay. Didn't have any trouble conceiving, but did have a problem with it 'sticking'. When it did first stick, unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, though I think they are so common that it's nothing to do with endo. Needed an ERPC and when I went back for a check up they found a cyst on my ovary that they needed to operate on - thought I would never get pregnant! I made sure I was quickly referred to the specialist fertility clinic (do this as soon as you can - rules are usually 3 miscarriages). They gave me injections to take during pregnancy and medication pre to help with stickiness (ensure the foetus remains in the womb). I now have a gorgeous 5 month old boy to show for it!! One word of caution is don't ignore post pregnancy pain. I think all us endo sufferers are so used to a bit of pain it's easy to just assume it's normal! I found that after my csection my bladder, ovary and womb had stuck together! Was left untreated for 4 months as I had just assumed it was normal post pregnancy pain.

Good luck!! The good news it you probably won't have any endo at all whilst pregnant.

I found out I had a cyst on one of my ovaries which was removed in June. That's how they found out I had endometriosis but was not offered any other surgery to remove it at all. I'm just so worried I won't be able to conceive at all :-(

Lots of ladies with endo have children, under the correct supervision of your consultant you shouldn't have issues TTC. Try not to get stressed, like any condition it is always worse if you are stressed out, find methods to relax you and enjoy the excuse for a long hot soak in the tub with fancy oils etc!!! :) Complete infertility is actually fairly rare with endo (its just so many women have it, it seems like it's common). Don't panic, take each day as it comes and enjoy trying! Wishing you the best of luck xx

I was diagnosed a month ago after 20 years of pain. I have a lovely 3 year old boy which I obviously conceived before diagnosis or any treatment so not all women have trouble getting pregnant. Infact we conceived first month we attempted and only had sex a couple of times that month due to working away etc! So we were very very fortunate. Good luck x

Hey im new to this too, just joining the forum today. Myself and my partner had been trying for 7months. I am 29yrs old. Since coming off the pill in December 2013, month on month my periods got progressively worse. After several tests, scans and pain endurance for 8months now i am waiting for my laparoscopy date. I am thankful the Endo has come to light and surgery will only help fertility if it was the issue. Try keep a healthy endo diet, exercise when you can, try de-stress and stay hopeful. Xox

What is a healthy endo diet?

1.increase omega-3 fatty acids

2.avoid meat, dairy products, wheat and sugar

3.increase fibre

4.modulate estrogen

5.avoid caffeine and alcohol

6.avoid refined foods, e-numbers, additives

7.minimise or avoid soy products as they contain high levels of phyto-estrogens, and soy contains a particular toxin which seems to be particularly detrimental for women with Endometriosis

peel fruit and vegetables to remove toxic chemicals

8.eat organic produce wherever possible

9.drink lots of filtered or mineral water

This site has great info and where i got advice on what to cut out:
