kidney infection
Get them to test you for e-coli infection and candida overgrowth. Both are common in women with endo.
E-coli can be difficult to get rid of.
In the search box top right key in "coli". Plenty of recent discussion on this.
A urinary tract infection does start usually in the bladder and the bugs climb up the ureters and in to the kidneys -that's when you develop fever and pain and ache and feel very unwell.
Antibiotics are essential - and will kill off most of the bugs. However as Brownlow stated E-coli is VERY persistant. The children bugs are easily killed off the parent bugs are wrapped in a layer called biofilm which protect them from being killed by most antibiotics these days making is very hard to kill them too.
When the coast is clear of antibiotics - out come the parent bugs to start reproducing children bugs on a large scale again.
These need to be zapped and zapped and zapped. Don't hang about waiting for the bugs to work their way to the Kidneys. As soon as you have a hint of a UTI get to the Docs and get your pee tested.
Best to ask them for a few free sample pots on next visit so you have some you can prepare in advance of each visit to the surgery and take along a full pee pot with you ready for testing.
Best to catch your pee 1st thing in the morning - mid stream. So pee a little in the loo. stop and hold it in, then pee a bit into a clean plastic jug or old icecream tub, and then return to the loo to finish off your pee.
Tip some of the captured pee in to the pee pot and discard the rest down the loo.
Remember to thoroughly sterilise or clean out the container you use for catching pee.
When you have finished the anti-biotics, don't assume just because you are feeling better that all the bugs are gone. Take a new sample pee pot back to the GP and get it checked and if signs of bugs still remain - back on the antibiotics. It really can be the devils own job to catch out and kill these parent bugs - or persister cells as the scientists call them.
My sympathies - akidney infection is awful and make you so unwell.I ended up in hospital with this in December and had great problems getting an antibiotic to work.Tried 3 dfferent types of antibiotics, the second one iv and didn't respond. Then I did some research and read about D Mannose -please google it and see for yourself. It costs a bit ,butI only took 3 days of the powder(it is a sugar, which stops bacteria clinging to the bladder, much I think like cranberries do) and my urinecame back clear.Has anyone else tried D Mannose?
