I had a laparoscopy just over 1 week ago to remove chocolate cysts, ovary and fallopian tube on left side. During op, my consultant found evidence of diverticular disease (I had never heard of this until mentioned after op - they are apparently small sacs or pockets leading from the lower colon which become inflamed or infected leaving me feeling bloated with pain in lower left abdomen, extreme difficulties with constipation leading to some bleeding from back passage. Not pleasant at all! I just wonder if anyone else has any experience of this disease? I am told that it wasn't related to or caused by endo, they stumbled upon it during op as I had mentioned the difficulties I faced with my bowels as well as dealing with the endo. It now looks likely that I will need further surgery and just feel low at the moment and can cry at anything!! Thankfully I have an amazing husband who is so supportive. Grateful for any views or helpful advice.xxx

jay - use the serch box in the green bar at the top of the page and type in diverticulitis. It has been mentioned before on this forum a number of times - but the IBS forum is a lot busier discussing it (unsurprisingly).
Hi Jay42 you have my sympathies. I dont have diverticulitis but it is how I have described my bowel endo symptoms to my GP & endo specialist. The fact that you have been diagnosed with it really striks a chord with me. X
Hi Babelfish, Thank you for your response. I wish you all the best with your treatments and goal towards better health, hopefully soon xxx
