I had a lap last Tuesday (18th) and when I was in recovery my consultant came round and told me that they had found endometriosis but that was all the info I was given. No sick note, no return appointment made and basically just sent home clueless. I was told that I should be able to return to work with 48 hours but was back today and was in agony. They told me that I would get a letter about 4 weeks after the lap detailing their findings. Maybe they will go over everything at the return appointment and hopefully answer any questions. They really are useless!

Thanks. Yes that doesnt sound too helpful just glad to be back home with my little boy. Its been a long day. How long before the wind subsides it's quite sore, drinking peppermint tea though.

Mine was there for about 3 days post op. I was told that the gas won't dispel by passing wind so I used heat pads! They were a god send! I used the loose oat things designed for necks because I could actually "hang" it over my shoulder, which was the worse area affected by the gas. Oddly the best thing that helped was pressure on it so the heat oat things (sorry I don't know their proper name haha) also done that job. You'll probably be sore when you wake up and remember that you'll feel ok till you try to move...take it slow! I hope you feel better soon! Remember your not alone!!

Hi. I had my lap when I was 28, the consultant came round as I was coming round and said to me 'you have endometriosis, do you want kids? if so id try for them now' then left. That was it! Follow up appointment wasn't any better, the gyno told me I have endo and should take paracetemol when Im feeling 'a bit sore'! (his actual words!!!) :( Hope that your consultation goes a lot better than mine did and you actually get some help and advice.

I had gassy shoulders randomly and heat was definitely the best thing for it, I was attached to my hot water bottle for a while after the op.

Keep an eye on ur stitches... they are suppose to be degradable however mines weren't and eventually I had to take them out myself!!!

Hope you get on ok :) x

I'm disgusted with the way you have all been treated my consultant is great and comes to c me when I'm awake bak on the ward and answers my questions and also I get a detailed discharge letter explaining what they have done and what they have removed. I was u all I would ask to c someone else. Unfortunately my body is the useless thing and despite my consultants best efforts 4 laps in 2 yrs and every possible hormone treatment my endo has progressed and spread and I am currently waiting for a hysterectomy. Hope you all get sorted soon and I wouldn't just take their answers I would c someone else especially after being told just take paracetamol because they do absolutely nothing for me I can still be in tears quite often after slow release morphine which I am on regually and the liquid morphine top up. Sorry f the long rant I just can't believe how you have all been treated hope u all get somewhere feel free t private message me anytime if you would like to chat more. xxx

Oh dear that sounds awful. I've come a long way in terms of consultants and complained about one along the way. I think some are much better than others. More sympathetic and actually listen.

Thanks for the advice. X
