Finished a 9 month course of zoladex early as could not deal with side effects, had my 6th injection 2 months ago, now suffering, can't even walk around school/work. Has anybody else had this?
Anybody else come off of zoladex and expe... - Endometriosis UK
Anybody else come off of zoladex and experience horrendous hip pain and ache?
I had a two year course of zoladex which ended in 2009. I've had terrible hip and knee pain since about 2008 and I still don't know why. Scarily I was on it without HRT and have never had a bone scan, but I haven't broken any bones or anything so my bones can't be too bad.
I think I may have another undiagnosed condition because of the fatigue that's been put down to ME without ruling anything out, plus the joint pain and a whole host of other weird symptoms. In terms of this kind of symptoms, usually my hips and knees hurt if I lie or sit still for more than a few minutes. It tends to come in phases, where it will improve for a month or so and then return just as badly, and them go again. I also have weakness in my hands, I can't grip and turn things like lids and caps of bottles / jars. I also get bad tailbone pain when I sit on a hard surface.
I suspect I may have an underactive thyroid but it could be a form of arthritis or lupus so I'm going to ask my GP for some blood tests when I go next week.
Definitely speak to your doctor - you may need some X-rays and scans to see if there's a problem. Do let me know how you get on.
I had shin pain for more than a year it was hell no painkiller could take the pain away
Yes me, I had a 6 month course in 2012 and only just made it to the end of the 6 months. Worked brilliantly for my endo symptoms but caused a massive flare up of my rheumatoid arthritis about month 5 that has had knock on effects to today - my joints have degenerated from damage at top speed. I am not allowed to go on the zoladex again- I probably shouldn't have been on it in the first place but the consultants don't speak to each other and there were no specific contraindications so I was put on zoladex after excision surgery.
Anyway... yes! For me I had tons of knee/shoulder/foot/hip pain but was linked to my RA (which I have had for years) but absolutely linked to the zoladex injections.
Yes!
The same as the others after six months of zoladex still have on and off severe joint pain along with other strange symptoms. When it's at it's worst I can't cut my food up or walk upstairs properly. A good day they just ache. When they are really bad my large joints click a lot.
My gp thinks it's because I am on depo now. I think my body doesn't know if it's coming or going - it's been subjected to fake menopause and fake pregnancy in same year.
I also think a lot of it is referred pain. If you have endo in pouch of douglass, bowel or ligaments you are more likely to get hip pain.
It can also be a sign of adenomyosis which they think i have too xxx
