Zoladex and drinking alcohol.

Hi I was just wondering if any of you ladies who are on Zoladex can tolerate alcohol whilst on this treatment. Or maybe it's just me? I find that I feel really rotten the next days (more than normal) after having a wine. I get really woozy and sleepy after one glass! Does anyone know if zoladex decreases your tolerance to alcohol? x

I don't touch alcohol as it isn't nice to endo. But on Zoladex, I was feeling rotten regardless of what I ate or drank. Alcohol dehydrates the body quite a bit, and the drug is causing the same thing itself because of the unregulated temperature thermostat in the brain being switched off which causes the hot sweats and cold chills. So double dehydration in a way. Make sure you should substitute the booze for extra water while on the drug. You body will be clammering for more liquids as you sweat it out, so make sure it is the kind of liquid that helps not hinders the process.

Thanks Impatient for your advice. Yeah I rarely touch alcohol anymore these days because i feel rubbish enough without it. I do miss it tho, or more to the point i miss having fun, relaxing, being out of pain, having energy, etc..

However I do often wonder if my days of enjoying drinking too much ended up resulting in this Endo

I wondered too if my alcohol intake had caused the endo. I read that when the liver is busy processing the alcohol it isn't able to process any excess estrogen in your system and the excess estrogen feeds the endo.

alcohol is contraindicated with zoladex as it could increase bone loss, try to leave it out as much as possible during zoladex and read the zoladex leaflet.
