Zoladex and alcohol?

Has anyone suffered with feeling the effects of alcohol on a much higher level when taking zoladex? Is this normal? I've had a pint of cider after my first injection 4 days ago and I am now feeling very, very drunk and very, very ill, when usually I like to think I have quite a strong tolerance!

Hi, thanks for your response. Glad it's not just me who feels that way. It's just very strange as everywhere I've read so far says zoladex and alcohol don't react with each other - I'm not too fussed, although my 21st birthday is in the middle of my 6 months of treatment!

The other half will be pleased to have a chauffeur for a while anyway :)

This is the first I've ever read about this but would explain a lot. I went away with a friend for the weekend a few weeks ago and had a few vodkas. Next morning I was so poorly. More than I would normally for the amount I had drunk. Friend drove the 6 hour journey home with 4 stops because I kept being sick. Never thought that it could have been the prostap?

Yes I was on zoladex and found that alcohol really knocked me out also. Wasn't fun because I was in Hawaii for my 40th birthday on zoladex. Felt shocking most of my holiday because I was trying to enjoy a cocktail now and then to soak up the hawaii vibe and my birthday but really suffered the consequences! :(

Moral of this story.... don't plan an exotic dream holiday when you're gonna be on zoladex..

Thanks so much for your responses, so glad it isn't just me!

Cooka, I have a holiday planned for my 21st birthday in September, I'll be on month 5 of zoladex by then. I'm worried I'm not going to enjoy it.

Lizzie71, I'm going to try again with the alcohol tomorrow, I'll report back my thoughts. I've convinced myself maybe it might have been because I hadn't had very much to eat that day, rather than the injection, wishful thinking I know seen as all of you lovely ladies have felt the effects too.

I'm not a big drinker anyway but I have lots of birthdays/concerts and things coming up over summer and it's nice to just have a few, I'll be quite upset if I can't!

Hi

I know this post is old, but hoping some of you may pick it up and be able to help me!

I am on my first months zoladex injection with HRT patch.

I have felt awful after just one or two drinks since having the zoladex.

I am due my next injection Friday (6th July 2018) but if I have it that will run into my holiday in Greece (with three kids) Holiday is 30th July - 14th August), so I will pretty much be not feeling like a drink for most of my holiday, and i am desperate to enjoy holiday and not feel like crap and be grumpy with my husband and children

the point of the zoladex is to see if is stops my adeno symptons (24/7 pain) and if it works I will have a hysterectomy. After 1 month it hasn't worked and I still hve the adeno pain, but I want to have the hysterectomy anyway.

So my question is, If I have decided I want the hysterectomy anyway, is it worth having the second zoladex injection and not enjoying my holiday to the max? or will the zoladex start to help with the adeno after the second injection and should I stick with it ?

My other thought is this is also a way of trialling the HRT patch so I can decide whether to keep ovaries or not, so far the HRT patch has been good after 1 months trial , or is it the HRT patch that is affecting my tolerance to alcohol and dnot the zoladex????)

i see you ladies have had the same dilemma / experience with zoladex and holidays and so any advice would be gratefully received as to whether you think I should have the second injection or not !

A little but only for a few seconds

It’s the no appetite and the tiredness that got me for a few days after

Try and have no plans and get some support in place for the couple of days after
