Surgeon says laparoscopy will make my condition more worst and i will not conceive naturally. he wants me to go on Zoladex for 6 months and then try. My questions is how will i be able to conceive when my endometriosis, chocolate cysts and adhesion are not removed. Only right tube and ovary is working but left ovary and tube cannot be seen due to adhesion. What should I do now? Should I go for surgery to clean things first and then go on Zoladex to relax anything left? Or should I go for Zoladex and try to conceive without surgery? Please help.
Severe Endometriosis, Chocolate cyst, den... - Endometriosis UK
Severe Endometriosis, Chocolate cyst, dense bowel adhesions and INFERTILITY. unable to conceive for last 3 years.
I've done both not by choice though my cyst ruptured. I'm on zoladeX now and hoping it may help conceive. I can't really offer much advice at this stage but personally I'd opt for both as there is a chance you'd have to go through it all again otherwise.
Surgery, get all the badness out arrange appointments with an ivf clinic and go forward rapidly, I had surgery and was told I had 12-18 months to concieve only through ivf. Unfortunatley for me we didn't go through with it as we were not in a finacial position to do so, I didn't realise the little time I had to concieve! So I have missed out, I gave zolodex a go and well it wasn't the easiest of times. Goid luck hope this helps. X
Hi Borderali
Many thanks for your reply. Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you conceive naturally then or have gone through any other procedures after your surgery? Yes i am determined to get surgery done in order to remove cyst and some adhesions and restore my anatomy so that i can try but he is not satisfied about this option.
Thanks
Hi
I couldn't concieve naturally as. My partner is a woman! We had plans to have a child together after we got married. We went to birmingham fertility clinic and had our first consult we were going to have interuterine insemination, but after the first consult with the doctor there without even examining me she said that I had endo, next visit was a scan to make sure I was healthy etc. That's where they found the two choc cysts, they refered me to doc and had a lap to remove cysts and endo. I was then told by the clinic after they read the referral letter I would be best to concieve via ivf within the next 12-19 months as the disease would come back. Sadly we were not in a position to afford ivf so we have just concentrated on getting me back to a normal being!!!
Its been real hard the past 2years but with a supportive partner a goid GP and great consultant ooo and anti depressants I'm feeling a lot more focussed on life!
I'm going to get myself sorted (hysterectomy) and live life to the Max enjoying my life with my partner and her 2 children, at least I have them! Good luck don't get too down bout stuff, everything happens for a. reason I feel if we went for ivf we wouldn't have a wonderful house we just bought, we wouldn't have all the plans we have and we could of had some heart ache if we would have gone for it.
Enough of the essay!!!!
I feel for you!
Been where you are now!
Awful times so massive hugs!
I totally disagree with your surgeon/cons!
From
Experience I mean!
I was diagnosed with stage 3 endo last yr after 8yrs of misery!
I had ALLSORTS of treatment pills & potions & ZOLEDEX!
Its an horrendous drug. Puts your body in a state of temporary menopause.
This creating more problems.
Its a very expensive way of putting yourself through hell for 6/9months even if it does work for pain it won't actually stop the endo it just stops it while your taking it!
When you stop the endo starts growing again!
I know this happened to me!
You need to have an excissive laproscopy first. An experience endo surgeon to cut laser away as much as possible before any hormone treatment!
I am talking from experience!
Best wishes

Hi Lizzi
Many thanks for your concern and wishes.. my surgeon is known to be the best in endometriosis cases but he scared to death saying my condition will become more worst after laparoscopy... i also cannot afford IVF due to financial issues and i am depressed to the maximum extent.
He was not ready to talk openly and clearly. he asked to start Zoledex but i said i will start it after surgery so that it settles down if anything left and will try to conceive.
I hope i am right after your views and experience.
Many thanks
Hi Yellowrose
Thanks for your reply. yes my husband had tests and everything came normal. My first laparoscopy they found out my right ovary and right tube is fine. They could not see left ovary to remove cyst and neither they know the condition of my left tube as it is hidden below adhesions.
I did conceive naturally this year jan but sadly miscarried at 7 weeks. I have asked for surgery to atleast clear the cyst and unblock my left tube if they can or see what best can be done to restore what all they can.
I am planning only for surgery as i think that may help me rather than zoledex or i am plannign to have zoledex after surgery for 3 months and then stop it and try to conceive. Not sure how right i am . Just stressing out...
I am 30 years and never had HCG specifically. During my first diagnostic surgery, the gyanec did Dye test and found out my right tube is fine and normal. They dont know abt left ovary and tube. It is dislocated due to adhesions. I am having to conceive with my right ovary and tube but every month i only have ovulation pains on left side where i have cyst and not sure if right ovary ever releases egg as i never expereinced pain on right. None of the doctors are concerned to send me for further scans to see if my right ovary is working or not. All they say is due to endometriosis even if i conceive i have high chances of miscarriages. will zoledex supporess the cysts as well?
hi, i have just turned 40 and had my first laporoscopy in August following fertility investigations at an ivf clinic which diagnosed a hydro in my left fallopian tube. The surgeon discovered a bit of a mess in there and ended up removing the left fallopian tube amongst other stuff.
I thought it was all doom and gloom when he told me it was stage IV endo. But he explained how i was now nice and clear of endo (as much as poss anyway) and that he had done a dye test thru my right fallopian tube (which is clear for the time being). So ultimately the operation turned out be a positive experience for me; it gave me a glimmer of hope that i could fall pregnant.
As it happens my husband and i are starting ivf next month, mainly due to our age and not wanting to hang around too long before giving it a go. But i also know there is now the possibility (however small) of me falling pregnant naturally which the surgeon said wouldn't have been possible before the operation.
I would recommend having the operation honnie. If nothing else you'll feel better for having the endo/cysts removed. But it'll also give you a better picture of how things are in there and how you can best press ahead to get pregnant. My surgeon recommended i see him in 4-6mths if i haven't fallen pregnant by then and we can then disuss Zoledex. You could give yourself a similar timeframe after your op perhaps and in the meantime keep trying for a natural conception and also find out if you qualify for nhs ivf treatment. I wish you all the best, x
