After going through IVF ICSI, I have recently discovered that I am pregnant. The best news ever, as I was told I couldn't have children due to this horrible condition. I am now 5 weeks, and have started to notice twinges where my ovaries are. Does anyone know if endo pain will continue through pregnancy?
When I started my IVF, I was put on medication to shut down my ovaries and give me a temporary menopause, which lasted for 3 months. I was pain free for this time, and it was the best feeling ever to not wake up in pain, and carry all my painkillers around with me. When I then found out I was pregnant, I thought that I would continue to be pain free until baby is born, but now I'm getting worried that the pain is returning.

I can't answer your question directly as I am an endo newbie but I do know that it is perfectly normal to have twinges and so on in your lower pelvis when you get pregnant. There's a lot going on down there!
I can't imagine endo would have an impact on the pain at all as it would become dormant during pregnancy - however I suppose it's possible if you have adhesions for these to be pulled and tugged as the uterus expands later on.

Congratulations! What a relief. I have also recently found out I was pregnant having been diagnosed with endo 5 years ago. I have had two laparoscopy and laser surgeries to remove the adhesions and the menopause inducing injections too, for six months. I have been told that although endometriosis does become dormant in pregnancy, if you have any scar tissue from previous surgeries the changing shape of your womb can aggravate that and cause endo like pain. Apparently this is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about though so just try not to stress about it and enjoy the miracle that is growing inside of you! I hope that other than this you are well. Congratulations to you too!!! It is the best feeling in the world isn't it, even though it is still early days for me. It really makes sense what you are saying. I had my lap back in May, and the pains are more dominant right under where the scars are, so obviously where they have been poking and prodding!! I'm glad it's normal, and one less thing to worry about.

I had pains throughout both my pregnancies (and breakthrough bleeding) and was told by my Obs/Gyn that this is not uncommon with a history of Endometriosis.
