Just wondering if anyone had been given Esmya to treat their pain? I've been told by my gynae that it is still sort of being trialled, but I am reluctant to take this drug because of the 'very common side effects'.
If anyone has tried this, I would really appreciate hearing their experience with it.
Thanks x

I`ve been on that treatment for the last 3 months and now I'm doing it for another 3, the only side affects i get are hot flushes, sometimes a tummy pain but thats most likely endi, its definitely way better than my previous treatment which made me worse than endi x
I have been on it for three months, I'm 22 and I am going to have my left felopian tube removed next month. My endo is pretty severe but these tablets have made me feel so much better! All I get is a few hot flushes! I won't lie the first
Couple of weeks were hell but I stuck it out and now
I'm so glad I did. Go for it!!!
Much better than growing a beard on that other stuff!
Hello,Esmya is not just to treat the pain but also to reduce the size of a fibroid,i had large fibroid 14x13cm,i had a death bleeding....until had blood tranfussion 4 bottles, the doctor prescribed Esmya for first course, and iam now on second course and my fibroid shrunk to 9x6cm,i finish my second course in january2016....i desperately need a second baby....All in all my bad symptoms killed by Esmya,I real appreciatethis, thanks Esmya.
I am on my first packet of esmya and am feeling absolutely rotten. Hot flushes, Dizziness, Extreme tiredness and Even a vaginal infection. Although my fibroids are large I don't know how long I will be able to carry on with this drug
I have just finished 3 months of Esmya, the side effects for me were mild, but worse initially and they settle down. I got through the 3 months, and may take again after a 2 month gap as I want to reduce the size of the fibroids without having to resort to surgery. I wouldn't expect to get the side effects the whole time but everyone is different. For me it is worth trying to get through them to help with the pelvic pain the fibroids cause due to their growth recently. I do not have any evidence yet they have reduced in size because I wont be having another scan now, I will just go by how I feel and the pain comes and goes. I think these tablets (if they work for people) could be a good thing because it could avoid the need for hysterectomy if you are not far off the menopause age.
I used 3 rounds of Esmya for my fibroids and it calmed the pain down and got my cycles back to a minimum instead of having them for 2 weeks or more. It did stop them also at times. Now I'm not on Esmya anymore I've not had any issues with the fibroid growth or endless cycles. I feel a lot better than I had for at least a year previously.
