How long will i need to wear a bag after the bowel surgery? Does anyone have any advice?

I'm having a hysterectomy and bowel resection as I've just been diagnosed with stage 4 endo.
Hi, sorry to hear this. I am facing this when I decide to have a hysterectomy, I am holding out at the mo as I don't have kids and I desperately want one. They said when I do have hysterectomy I will need a full bowel rescetion as well as I have endo all over my bowels. I had 2 holes in the bowel sewn up in 2008 but there are more. My understanding of the bag is that you will have it for 3-6 months depending on how you progress and probably depends on how well the surgery went etc. I have nearly had one a couple of times as the surgeries have been close but I have so far managed to not have it. I am not looking forward to it though. Have they given you a date for surgery yet?

Hi,
I am in recovery for this surgery now, I was afraid I would need a bag for a while and was measured up for it, but my Surgion did say he has only had to give two temporary bags in the last 100 ladies he had seen . This is doctor Rockwell at Guildford a bowl specialist who did my surgery with my gyne who did the full hystorectomy . I was told it depended on how close to the bowel opening the surgery would be. Hope this helps any questions do contact me.
I have had polips removed from my colon twice before, could this have been endometiosis.
I have Fibromyalgia and Endometriosis. i have been having surgery for 20 years on and off. the photos of my uterous are covered in bubbles that look like scar tissue.
it has taken me 3 years to have a period again and am on clomid now to try for my second child. at some point i will have to decide if the pain is really bad to stop trying for another child and have every thing removed.
