Has anyone had a hystorectomy and bowl section
Hello Sweetie, I can remember it being terrifying before I went in as it's so unknown, but I was back on my feet the next day, albeit slowly and painfully. It helps, Sweetie, it really does and I pestered the living daylights out of my surgeon before I signed the for so my recommendations are to check what they're going to do and how much bowel they will remove. It is a long recovery but with care and rest you you can do it. I am 2 years post- op and don't regret it. Good luck!
Thank you fro this I am really glad I found this site it has been so helpful to see what others are doing about endo and I have had nothing but support on here it's great. I have booked six weeks off work so hopefully this will be enough to recover properly. As my job involves lifting and driving.
Thank you
You're very welcome sweetie - hope all goes well. Think you may need a little longer than 6 weeks, I took 9 to get back to work and that was pushing it. Please don't hesitate to ask if there's anything you need, or if you just want to talk. All the very best.x
hi Pepper I had one 11 months ago - i had 5 months off work but we are all different u just need to see how u feel afterwards
good luck honey.
I think the average recovery time they give to bowel cancer paitents for a resection is 3 months and your having a hysterectomy as well. Make sure you take your time to recover, I didnt after a big op and ended up with chronic fatigue and havent been able to work properly since. I hope it goes well for you, I wrote on another post about this a few mins ago, maybe you could talk to Karen about hers. I have been told I am having this when I consent to hysterecomy but trying for kids first. Keep us up to date with how it goes and all the best xx
