hi all, im new to the group. My recent history is 5/6 weeks ago I had visible blood with clots in my urine. I was referred to a urologist and given a short course of antibiotics. All seemed to clear ok although home dipsticks still showed higher than normal proteins and micro blood the odd time. Between my referral and CT scan I started with intermittent right side pain with right sided groin pain which if im honest ive had for at least a couple of years but have never pursued it as ive had afib and colitis flare ups to contend with in that time 🙄 - forgot to mention prostate and testicle exams at a&e were all good. Had my CT urogram a couple of weeks ago then a bladder cystoscopy yesterday. Consultant who did the scope told me my urine sample from bloody urine showed infection, CT scan ok and scope yesterday ok so free to go. Previous to all this I was referred to ENT where it was found I had swollen neck lymph nodes- which were later ok'd after a neck U/S. I genuinely thought this would all be kidney related with my last 4 egfr's also in 70s so was relieved to be told yesterday I was all clear. Yet in my enthusiasm for getting the hell out of there I forgot to ask about kidneys as they only seemed interested in my bladder. Has anyone been through similar and is it worth me asking questions about my kidneys with my gp or should i just let go and live life? Ive had two years of health niggles (im 52) after only a handful of gp appointments prior

Your having egfrs in the 70s indicate that your kidneys are functioning normally. So what kind of questions do you think you need to ask about your kidneys?
60-89 is considered normal with no other symptoms isnt it. Visible blood with clots and micro blood in urine with on/off side and groin pain is other kidney problen symptoms isnt it? But thanks anyway, i'll be patient and wait for professional follow up and stay off these sites
You don't have to be snotty about it. BTW, I am an M.D., board certified and licensed in CA. The symptoms you are having are all from the lower urinary tract (bladder), not from the kidneys. That's why your doctors "only seemed interested in my bladder." As I said, it appears that your kidneys are functioning normally. By all means, ask your "professionals." They will tell you the same thing. Also, the egfrs are just estimates; there are several other tests that can be done to get a more accurate appraisal of your kidney function.
How old are you?
