my ckd drpped from 43 to 37

I recently went to regular doc because of thyroid issues🙄 she ran a full blood work and my kidney function dropped. I have been incredibly tired lately. It is not the thyroid and I have no idea what is causing it. This is the lowest it’s been. Is it possibly to really raise it.

Kidney function bounces daily, hourly, actually. Depends on so many things. How hydrated were you at the time of the draw. What you did the day before. You do not say how much it dropped. I would not worry unless it continues to drop. Just make sure for labs you drink water the day before and some, not a ton, before the lab.

Its likely that you do have CKD as your eGFR is below "normal" but that's not uncommon kidney.org/atoz/content/gfr. Hydration should certainly help as can other natural things. My mum has been able to almost double hers to ~60 post nephrectomy by following a nutrition protocol laid down by a qualified Nutritional Therapist. No drugs.

Did your mum consult a private Nutritional Therapist? I asked my GP to refer me to a Dietitian some months ago but have heard nothing as yet. After the diagnosis I was told to drink more water and left to get on with it.

Yes. I cant recommend dieticians based on personal experience and other concerns e.g. that their controlling body is "financially influenced" (see cambridge link below, for example).

A Nutritional Therapist should be approved by BANT and CNHC registered so you could select a suitable one via practitioner-search.bant.or....
