I have no advice, but all I could tell you is that from what I saw, most doctors do not diagnose you with Anemia until you are under a 10 in HGB. If you are having issues right now, it's not because of RBC or HBG.
Blood work results can be interpreted differently by Doctors. I am 79, ckd 3b and have low RBC also. My GP told me I have anemia.
I too am 3b. I get blood work taken every 3 weeks, due to other cancer treatments. My Hemoglobin has been at 11.7 for over 3 years. My RBC during that time has been 3.7. I see an oncologist, gp, cardiologist, urologist regularly. With those blood test results not a single one has mentioned anemia. One said I am slightly anemic nothing to be concerned about. When I asked why no be concerned, was it because of other other medical problems? His reply was that the ranges of "normal" are just that. What is typical in most individuals. For example the HGB range of normal is 12 to 17 (at this lab). Being at .3 below the "normal" range, and consistently, is simply MY normal. The same for RBC. The normal is 4 to 6.3. Here too I am at .3 below the "normal", consistently, this is MY normal. Not worthy nor necessary of any types of treatments.
Thanks for your views.
I also felt the same way.Even my nephrologist said that nothing to worry.
But I just wanted opinions of friendsike you.
Even for my CKD I have read that in case of some elderly patients if there is no other concern and if only creatinine is slightly elevated but stable then it will not progress further.
I am keeping my fingers crossed
