i would be grateful of some help/advice/clarity for my 7 yr old.
USS/DMSA have identified chronic kidney atrophy - 5% function on right kidney which is chrinally scarred - 95% function left kidney. CKD stage 2 has been queried. Latest creatinie 50 but flow is 100mm so normal. Another urine sample requested.
Consultant advised they are scheduling another type of scan next year and she will need to be seen at least annually for BP and urine.
Does she actually have early stage CKD or is the hospital just monitoring because of the scarred small kidney? It is confusing - it sounded like good news but annual monitoring feels like there is still something we need to be concerned about?

Please don't be alarmed by the annual monitoring as this is often the normal approach when dealing with illness in children and young people. To gain clarity it would nevertheless seem to be a good step to go back to your GP and discuss your concerns. In the meantime any of our members who have had similar experience will share this with you.
