Hello everyone I'm currently seeking unemployment because the job I was working at was an unhealthy environment where Fridays I didn't get to eat lunch. I have ckd stage 4 and I dont eat alot of protein im on a diet so unfortunately the months I was working there really made my kidney worse they didn't let me no option but to give my two weeks because since I was two moths alway from 1 year I didn't qualify to go to another drs office the supervisor tried or intended to help but end it up giving the office that she told me to apply to another phleb because her account close. I waited a month to see if she helps me but never did now I'm out of work and applying for unemployment and it has been denied I don't know what to do I'm feeling hopeless and with my husband salary which is not bad is still not enough. Can anyone give me advice and any options I'm going crazy!!!
Thank you

Jennifer, first of all.... it is very hard to read your post without any punctuation. Did you mean disability and not unemployment? They are not the same. If you quit your job, chances are you are going to have a hard time getting unemployment. Disability is another very tricky thing for people who are unable to work because of their illness or disability. Not getting lunch is a labor law situation. (Not sure if the law is different in your state) But depending on the job, it should be spelled out whether you get a paid lunch or not, how long and how often. Did you file a grievance with the company about you not getting a lunch? Keep looking for another job because I think you are going to be hard-pressed to get unemployment with you leaving on your own.
Sorry I was writing quickly yes I worked for labcorp and on Fridays I didn't get lunch break which I was very vocal about to my supervisor and she said that she will help me but it never happen they didn't leave me any option but to leave the job .
If in the US and you mean Social Security Disability or Social Security Supplementary Security Income (SSI) then yes it’s a possibility. I went through the process during the lockdown and it is a long process. Also, it takes you being extremely persistent and it helps to have some folks from your local US Representative’s or Senator’s office on your side. I can add specifics if you are indeed in the US and would like to have the information or you can message me for more information. Finally here is a link for information specific to both SSDI and SSI with CKD from the AKF in the US:
