HI BlindaSu,
So sorry for you loss. I cannot imagine going through all that you are. So here's a virtual hug ((((hug)))).
Stage 3 CKD is not actually failure. The good news is that people can live many years with that stage with no issues. When you are up to it, let's talk about diet and the things you can do to maintain that stage.
We are here for you.
So sorry to hear of your loss! Prayers to you and your entire family.
I lost a kidney 4 years ago to hydronephrosis, I also have CKD, but remember its just a label they put on you because of your numbers. My gfr ranges from 55-65 different on every test. It's not failure and my doctors( yes, I have 2 nephrologist because I have a hard time trusting doctors after my misdiagnosis with the hydronephrosis) told me if I watch my protein levels(kidneys work harder with high protein intake) and diet I can totally make it the rest of my life without dialysis and I am almost 50 years old! I've pretty much gone vegetarian but still eat chicken or meat once in awhile. Plant protein is way easier on kidneys. We are born with more then enough kidney function. We can totally make it with just one kidney. Take care of yourself, meditate, exercise, and watch your diet. You will be just fine Get advice from a good dietician to help if needed. And best advice I can give you...dont worry. One of my husbands clients is 85 and she lost a kidney in a car accident when she was 15 years old. When I first had my kidney out and got the CKD diagnosis she told me her entire life all she did was worry, worry, worry. If she could go back in time she wishes she could tell herself not too
I'm so sorry to hear of your sad loss. How devastating for you and your family, I pray for comfort and strength for you and the family. Also for this awful news. Keep fighting.
Hi everyone, thanks for your kind support I was just blown away when I saw all the support that this community offers. I see my nephrologist July 1 and I am going to request a dietitian and hopefully get some questions answer 😊 I will keep up the good fight like all of you guys! You are a inspiration as a group and again thank you.
