Creatine: My dad age 68 creatinine level... - Early CKD Support
Creatine
Hi Sakthi2288,
Welcome to our community. Creatinine is one measure of how well the kidneys are functioning but is dependent on age, sex, muscle mass, etc. A one-off measure tells us very little as this needs to be repeated over a period of time, and other blood test measures are taken into account such as eGFR, urea etc. It may not indicate at this stage anything serious. See more information from the Edinburgh Renal Unit: edren.org/ren/edren-info/bl...
If you or your dad have concerns, these should be directed back to his GP to discuss further.
Best wishes,
MAS Nurse and Moderator
In general everything sounds well within normal limits. But Creatinine levels do not have a one size fits all for each age group, race, etc. But in general terms a white male in that age group, normal is 0.8 up to 1.31. I'm sure your doctor did not sound any alarms, and he can see all the blood test results. But if it worries you (and it would not worry me), talk to the doctor.
