Unsweetened ice tea affect on kidney function

Does drinking a quart of unsweetened ice tea affect kidney function or kidney deterioration? I drink both caffeine free and caffeine ice tea.

Looks like in 2015 there was a lot of concern. I googled unsweetened ice tea, ckd.

HI Sagamore,

Too much of anything can be an issue. Depending on what type of tea you use, there can be an issue with oxalic acid building up. Here is a link to explain: healthcare.utah.edu/healthf...

Black tea has about 88 mg of potassium in 8 ounces. You do the math and it does add up. And we all know that caffeine increases blood pressure so be careful with that also.
