Lab results

Hi,

I'm a 49 year old female and am a little concerned with my last lab results. Especially the albumin/creatinine level at 38.8 when the normal level is <2.0

2 years ago my eGFR was 105, today it's 64.

I did have a cardiac arrest 2 years ago and have been put on an antiarrythmic called amiodarone, which can have negative side effects.

There is kidney disease and diabetes in my family history. Grandfatjer, brotjer, aunt, cousin.

I put in a call to my Doctor yesterday but didn't hear back. Just wondering if anyone has had similar results.

My potassium is also high at 5.4.

Normal being 3.5-5.2 mmol/L

Hi there,

Over 60 egfr I am told, is normal so you are still in the ok zone as far as that is concerned. When my potassium is over 5, I am always told to reduce my potassium foods.

Do speak with your doctor as kidney disease is in your family.....he/she might look at your tablets as some do affect kidney function.

All the best

Margaret

Very unusual for gfr to go down 40 pts in two years unless something significant happens to the kidneys. Perhaps the heart attack damaged them?

high sodium, creatinine, protein in urine, and albumin/Creatinine ratio.

Low uric acid, creatinine renal clearance, GFR 52 (was 64 last week)

2 years ago GFR was 108 so it's been a gradual decline.

Foamy urine.

Haven't been diagnosed with anything.

These are from blood, spot urine and 24 hour urine test. Doctor finally called. Shes sending my results to a nephrologist for his/her opinion.

You are looking at the albumin/creatinine ratio known as ACR. Normal ratios are less than 30. It is an indication of kidney function. A heart attack will have an impact on kidney function. It might be wise for you to start a renal diet and find the source of the potassium.

Finally heard from my Doctor. She's sending me for a spot urine test and a 24 hour urine test.

Not what you're looking for?
