Full blood count: Hello I need some advice... - Early CKD Support
Full blood count
No, they would need to take blood for U & Es which stands fit urea and electrolytes, looking particularly at creatinine and eGFR.
there would be some markers that would send alarm bells if there was a problem with your kidneys but if your dr wanted to test your kidney function they would ask for specific things to be checked as well!
Maybe with full blood count there would be some indication of early kidney disease.i didn't even ask Dr about my kidneys.i went to get results of thyroid and cholesterol and full bloodcount and iron. He said your kidneys are functioning well.thats why im curious from which of these tests has he decided that.maybe by looking at white and red blood cells they guess that everythings fine.next appointment in planning to ask how he found that out.Hope he does not think in trying to challenge him π
I would think that if the doctor was getting your blood tested for several things -- and certainly for several things that might cause someone to feel "under the weather" -- it would be good defensive medicine to throw in a test for several basic bits of body chemistry. This is the U&Es that picklemum mentioned. It is the routine test for kidney patients, but can also be used for information on other problems. It is also a required check before some medications are prescribed.
