Insulin Newbie

My blood sugars are in the 20s. Because I can't take medication without being sick etc, my consultant is going to start me on insulin. Any tips? What will this involve? I am already low carb - will I need to stay low carb?

I have been on insulin for about 20 years now and I have tried all sorts and have concluded that low carb is best for me; I need less insulin and it's easier to maintain a reasonable weight. Before, I was chasing carbs with ever increasing amounts of insulin to control BG but I was steadily increasing weight and it became a vicious circle. One caveat though, is that everyone is different and there is no standard answer.
