Why is bread such a problem with weight? Some eat a lot of the rubbish bread out there and have no issues.

I love quality old fashioned well cooked looking bread and make my own often and use real salted butter only, but because I love bread especially toasted, yet I seem to fill out with my belly. Why do some of us have a weight issue with bread and others don’t?

I think it must be the way our DNA is structured. It’s like those 50yr old plus, who have huge beer bellies, bald heads, smoke, drink everyday, appalling diet, football matches (nothing wrong with going to footie) no exercise, etc... yet the few I know like that, don’t have any heart or health issues and that stumps me how they get away with being like that?

Hello I'm a little late to the party but have you tried sourdough bread?

Welcome to the party!Yes, that’s all I eat and occasionally make my own as sourdough is a bit more time consuming than ordinary bread.

Great, you can't beat making your own. I guess it will also have a effect on the fermentation time the longer the bread is fermented the more the protein will will breakdown and not bloat you up. Also baking with healthier ancient grains is a great option as they contain up to 60% more vitamins then standard wheat grains and some especially Emmer grains are naturally lower in gluten. Winner winner 😀
