General Advice about carbohydrate for T2D:
Blood glucose response to carbohydrate differers from person to person. We as diabetics can not process carbohydrate as efficiently as non-diabetics. We should consume carbohydrate as per our tolerance levels. I keep my carb intake under 50 gm per day. In fact. it is mostly 30 - 35 gm because at this level I can maintain my blood sugar in healthy range without any medications.
I do not know your conditions fully. I suggest you avoid GPS from your diet.
G: Grains e.g. Bread, Rice, Pasta, Legumes etc.
P: Potatoes
S: Sugar
Regarding a number, it depends on your conditions. If you are overweight also, I would suggest you should consider ketogenic diet to start with where carb is limited about 25 gm or so. After 3- 4 weeks you can experiment with increasing the carb intake.
Most trustworthy guide in your journey will be a Glucose Meter with test strips. That way you will know which food gives high spikes to blood glucose so that you can eliminate or reduce the consumption of such food.
Equally important is replacing the shortfall in energy with healthy fats. Look at the dietdoctor.com website- you will get many useful information.
