HbA1c is a protein - it is used as a marker for diabetes because it will be raised if your blood sugars have been raised and gives a picture of what has happened over a couple of months.

So, there isn't a best type of insulin for HbA1C because the two aren't directly connected.

what were your levels and what treatment have you been given. If your HbA1c is raised and you have been identified as pre-diabetic (type2) then you probably need to look at some life-style changes - losing weight and changing your diet to avoid foods that are easily metabolised and will produce spikes in your blood sugar such as most refined foods and certainly refined sugars.

If you are already have a diagnosis of diabetes then it is an indicator that you aren't controlling your blood sugars properly - so either looking at diet and life-style or looking at medication.
