Can you please let us know if you are a type 1 or type 2 diabetic?

Hi Zulfikar201

i have type two diabetes for a few weeks and my understanding of it is work in progress .

i have just stated reading revers your diabetes by Dr David Cavan

many recommend the low carb high fat diet the diet doctor is informative, i would suggest you get a blood sugar monitor as it seems some people are more sensitive to certain foods.

I was diagnosed with T2 this time last year and reversed it after reading a book called Reverse Your T2 Diabetes by Dr David Cavan. I bought my own blood sugar monitor, made myself a spreadsheet, tested my blood sugar before and two hours after eating and recorded everything I ate. Using the after result I eliminated anything that spiked my bloods - even good grains did it for me.

I don't ever snack between meals and don't eat sweeets, cakes or biscuits and don't drink fizzy drinks even diet drinks.

I also signed up to the DietDoctor.com website and Diabetes.co.uk both of which have a wealth of helpful information.

I also like the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet Cookbook, the recipes in there are all very easy and the sort of thing I would want to eat. I'm working my way through it at the moment. Good luck.,

Many thanks for this useful reply, I have ordered the David Cavan book as it gets good reviews and seem a good starting point, your other suggestions also helpful and I am impressed at your success - hope I can emulate!

Make sure you get yourself a blood sugar meter, test like he says, record everything you eat, add a good helping of determination - I did not want to be taking metformin and I knew it could progress to injecting insulin and although I can happily give blood I have a horror of injections. So that kept me focused. Be sure to let us know how you get on.

Will do as well as I can, I'm pretty determined when needed. Definitely don't want to go along the metformin road, my husband has been on metformin for a while and a lot of other problems he has I wouldn't be surprised if metformin at least was a contributing factor
