stroke
Yes it does go away but maybe not fully, I slept like id never slept for the first month then gradually needed less as I tried to push myself to go out for walks, sit up and do activities etc. You can see the change week by week but take your time, you can't rush it. Practice, practice, practice I remember reading here, and really it works. But at the time you feel you'll never stop being tired, it's a crazy tiredness I know.
It is a long road, but you can improve. When I came home from hospital after a stroke, I couldn't find the bathroom in our small bungalow where we had lived for 28 years, nor did I know how I might go about finding it. Eight years later, I still have a visual disability caused by the stroke, but I enjoy being part of online lived-experience groups involved in university stroke and AF studies. Everybody's stroke is different, and there are days that are frustrating when dealing with government agencies that are dismissive, and online retailers who have zero empathy. If you can, check if the Stroke Association amongst others, are running engagement projects. Talking to other people online or face to face who have had a stroke can help.
