Hi all i have just joined this group, i had a bleed on the brain just over 3 years ago, which left me with poor memory, and a weak left arm and leg. I have been trying very hard to get my legs strong enough to walk, but the lockdown has closed my Gym and now my leg is stiffer than ever, i do exercises at home but all these do is make the leg weaker than ever. I am getting very depressed and my confidence has gone in my ability to ever walk again, i would also like to be able to walk my adorable Cocker Spaniel again ?

You tube some physical therapy things. Keep trying you will persevere. Remember your mind believes what you tell it continue to tell it positive things. Also music helps the brain to rewire-Turn something upbeat on and get your groove on😀😀😀 even if initially its only mentally🤗🤗🤗
I have a zoom video meeting with a nice CBIA lady on thursdays, and she told me i have to do my physio excercises more often with more effort etc.thanks also for the you tube suggestion !
Past tense- i was originally bedridden with left sided paralysis- but i am now upright and able to walk and take care of myself- my strokes were Jan 2015. (I was 53) I’ve done a lot of rehab but you must have a positive, keep pushing yourself forward, attitude
Sorry i didnt intend to ignore you but i am a bit short of remembering things and at times i cannot really cope with daily life, and while i am using my iphone atm my house hasnt got any Wifi at the moment.
I had a similar problem four years ago i am still a bit weak in the arm and have found a stick helps with walking but not with self image. You are lucky to have a dog i recommend short walks andlots of cuddles keep on with the physio best of luck it will get better with time take care
