Have you checked out the healthunlocked.com/glutenfr... group also on HU? What are your Granddaughter’s blood sugars? What is her A1c results for the last appointment/3 months? How many carbs. does she have for every meal/snack? How many times a day does she do insulin shots? Has her doctor suggested she goes on a low carb high protein diet along with the gluten free diet plan?
I’m type 1 and I eat a low carb high protein and gluten free diet along with using two types of insulin and a CGM to control the blood sugars and the gluten intolerance/wheat issues. I hope this helps you!😀👍🌈
Hi no my daughter is brilliant handling her condition my Granddaughter has
diabetes 1 along with celiac which was diagnosed last year at the age of 8
she is now 9 and dealing very well with her condition the diet is no gluten it is best to cook from scratch gluten free bread and so on you have to look at all labels
in supermarkets very time consuming there are a lot of foods to eat including pasta
but you have to weigh the amount of carbs you have obviously protein is free
also with diabetes watch the sugar
your hospital should sort out a diet sheet for celiac but tested first
