I have been on a strict diet-low carb & high protein, regular exercise, 2 meals intermittent fasting (16 hour gap), no alcohol, etc for 2 months now. My readings for 7 days are as follows:

Fasting Blood Sugar level (mmol/L): 6.3, 6.1, 6.5, 6.6, 6.2,6.1, 6.3

After 2 hours (mol/L): 8.2, 7.9, 7.3, 8.2, 8,7.6 ,6.7, 6.7

Am I pre-diabetic?

Have a look at the diagram at the top of this page!

The last two reading for "After 2 hours (mol/L): 8.2, 7.9, 7.3, 8.2, 8,7.6 ,6.7, 6.7", 6.7, 6.7 , what do you eat?

If your readings are correct it should be more than 7.1???

Anyway, you can find the answer yourself. At what point does the green change to light orange?

Have you lost any weight?

Sandy

Thanks. I just checked. Guess I made an error there-the last three readings should be 7.6. Apologies.

Yes I have lost 5 kilos weight.

What is your height, waist and weight measurements.

You can look at height to waist ration, Google has a lot of information.

If your life style made you loose 5kg, then keep up the good work.

Dear Georgemathew

I think you are doing well! Keep doing what you are doing !

You can still do better if you bring your BMI to a healthy range of 20-24... by intermediate fasting , physical exercise and with whatever diet you are liking. ..

👍

Good going...but 16 hours are too much divide 6hrs into three low carb.

If hba1c going above 7 then u can add glucophage 500mg with food. Try one month then check again.

Different organisations use slightly differing levels before classifying a person's fasting blood glucose as "impaired", with the American Diabetes Association using a lower cutoff in its criteria than the World Health Organization. The upper limits remain the same, as fasting levels above this are almost universally accepted as indicative of full diabetes:

WHO criteria: fasting plasma glucose level from 6.1 mmol/l (110 mg/dL) to 6.9 mmol/l (125 mg/dL).

ADA criteria: fasting plasma glucose level from 5.6 mmol/L (100 mg/dL) to 6.9 mmol/l (125 mg/dL).

Impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) is diagnosed with an oral glucose tolerance test. According to the criteria of the World Health Organization and the American Diabetes Association, impaired glucose tolerance is defined as:

two-hour glucose levels of 140 to 199 mg per dL (7.8 to 11.0 mmol/l) on the 75-g oral glucose tolerance test. A patient is said to be under the condition of IGT when he/she has an intermediately raised glucose level after 2 hours, but less than the level that would qualify for type 2 diabetes mellitus. The fasting glucose may be either normal or mildly elevated.

You have got prediabetes taking into account both impaired fasting glucose and impaired glucose tolerance.
