One date has equal to 4.5 g of sugar.

100 g of raisin has equal to 59 g of sugar.

There are other good stuff as well.

I am sure at your age you can enjoy these in moderation.

Two dates are 33 carbs. each depending on the brand you buy.

Yes Leah it’s sometimes very surprising how many carbs are in the things that you think are “healthy” isn’t it. But I guess if you count carbs like I do you can moderate everything as required and still enjoy a couple of treats 😁👍.

TBH I don’t look at sugar content per se any more I just steer clear of things that will obviously have too much sugar in them, but that’s it. Works for me but as with all these things it may not work for everyone!

That’s true. Not everything is going to work the same way for everyone.😀👍

Raisins and dates are loaded with sugar and therefore bound to spike the sugar level. So,it is better to avoid them. Please understand the concepts of glycemic index and glycemic load.Every thing will be clear .

According to experts, diabetics can also benefit from the high fiber content of dates. It is okay to eat 2-3 dates a day for diabetics so long as they exercise caution and maintain healthy eating habits overall.

Aside from enhancing heart health, raisins have a positive effect on reducing the risk of diabetes and improving blood sugar control of those with diabetes. ... Foods like vegetables, fruits, and whole wheat-based products have a lower GI and do not dramatically raise blood sugar levels.

Thank for your valuable input response.

Yes, I agree, dates and raisons do have good value for your health. One has to count how many dates and how many raisons the consume per day. This is not to over do it.

A 82 year old or a 72 years old can enjoy life with dates and rations in small numbers.

The best check for any health problems, how long are you sleeping during the night?

People used to say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, breaking night fast!

Now days people are saying give at least 14 to 16 hours before having a morning meal after evening meal.

How things have changed and are changing.

I sleep soundly for 7 hours from midnight to 7:00 am . I sleep at night very late because I have to answer medical questions from 7:00 pm to midnight.

Intermittent fasting is gaining popularity in US at present.

Sir,

Thank you for your reply. From your replies I thought that you have some connection to medical field!

What time zone do your answering the medical questions?

My daily practice is evening meal before 6:30 PM and breakfast after 1000 AM go to bed at 9:30 PM and wake up after 7 hours or 8 hours of sleep. I do my Internet research in the morning, I live in GMT time zone..
