HbA1c mmol / mol

42 Blue colour

48 to 58 Green colour in target. Between 53 and 58,you are doing good!

58+ to 75 Amber above target. Between 64 and 69 you need help.

75+ to 119 High RED. Between 97 and 108 serious risk of DKA!!

My HbA1c is just above 50, I answered this in another post.

My GP practice nurse is saying continue with your good work on life style change. I strongly belief in my diabetic care with once a year blood test, eye test and foot check.

I am looking for a good discussion on HbA1c.

My opinion is as under:

HbA1cmmol/mol -%

Normal -Below 42 mmol/mol -Below 6.0%

Prediabetes -42 to 47 mmol/mol -6.0% to 6.4%

Diabetes -48 mmol/mol or -over6.5% or over

I am in second category. I was diabetic for last 10 years but I made certain life style changes which helped me to move in prediabetic category. My aim is to achieve below 42 mol/mol or 6%
