What happens when the insulin gets frozen

Hi friends

I have read it on various forums that when the insulin vials/cartridges are kept at 30 or 34 degrees C (higher than the recommended temperature), its efficiency may go down by a few percentages. Does a similar effect take place when the insulin gets frozen, i.e., efficiency goes down? or it becomes completely damaged and unusable.

I tried to search the answer online but didn't get satisfactory answers. Please share your views.

Thanks
