Root vegetables have long been enjoyed as a delicious part of a healthy diet.

Defined as an edible plant that grows underground, potatoes, carrots and onions are a few common examples that most are familiar with.

However, there are many other types — each with a distinct set of nutrients and health benefits.

Good article indeed!

However , Potato and sweet potatoes may not be suitable for Keto followers.

Every 100 GM's of Sweet potato contain 21.3 GM's of carbs and 2.3 gm fiber. Net carbs 19%.

Similarly potato has 17 gm carb per 100 gm and 1 gm fiber. Net carbs 16 %.

However Sweet potato seems still better than potato as it has beta carotene - pro vitamin A !

Too much potato can aggravate arthritis even some can for many.

Garlic can cause problems for Lupus patients. Beets can be too sweet.

It is a case of what is right for each one not just what is healthy because if it causes problems for someone, it isn't healthy for them, but good to have the information.
