My doctor's order is complete blood chem, which include FBS and Lipid Profile. I have fast for 14 hours. Will my result for FBS still accurate?

The reference ranges are indicated based on some yardsticks.For testing fasting blood sugar, blood sample is taken after 8 to 10 hours of fasting.So,it is better to stick to that time frame to arrive at proper result.Longer fasting may also induce liver to release more glucose into blood stream tp meet basic metabolic requirements.
